Top 10 Olympic Swimming Twitter Accounts to Follow

Who should you follow while watching swimming during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics? Here are a few of my favorite follows...

This list doesn't include swimmers and coaches because who knows who will shut off social media and who won't. Many athletes get burner phones with a completely different number to isolate themselves from the noise.

MR. CARTER posts some of the highest quality swimming videos on Twitter. He tweets about a lot of other sports but stick around for his swimming tweets. We are constantly RT'ing him.

Robin Pla is the Conseiller Technique National chez Fédération Française de Natation. That's French for: the Russell Mark of French Swimming. If you want another Frenchy to follow, check out Coach Stephane Lecat, who heads up France's High Performance Open Water Team. He usually goes LIVE at the event.

Kyle Sockwell, former @ASUSwimDive swimmer and play-by-play commentator, has been tweeting about swimming for over a decade. He has captured the essence of the collective swimmer's voice. Said another way, he's great at swimming memes. Might be time for a new Twitter profile pic, though.

Braden Keith is the man behind the SwimSwam machine. Few people have their ear to the ground like him. He's the Rancor Keeper of the SwimSwam Comments Section.

Brittany MacLean is a 2x Canadian Olympian and NCAA Champion Georgia Bulldog. She's one of the best female commentators in the game -- let's hope she tweets more. Canadian swim nerds unite.

Nick Hope is an award winning journo (now working for BBC) as well as a Champion Masters swimmer. What's better than a swimming journo that actually swims? He's already on the ground in Tokyo taking loads of pictures and behind the scenes video.

Steve, aka pullbuoy, has been nerding out on British Swimming since 2000. Yes, the year 2000. He's a must follow.

Phil Lutton is one of my favorite Australian journalists. He covers Swimming for the Sydney Morning Herald.

Retta Race has authored over 7,000 articles for SwimSwam. She follows more Japanese swimmers and coaches than you do.

Hanso - Oceania Correspondent for Swimming World & ASCTA. This is his 10th Olympic games. You may have seen him in the Amazon documentary, Head Above Water.

CHNswim_Fan is the most reliable Twitter account for information in regards to the Chinese swim team. They do a lot of copying and pasting from Weibo, WeChat, and other Chinese social channels. They provide the translations.

Coach Alex Pussieldi is a Swimming Consultant and Editor of Brazilian's Best Swimming. If you are in South America, you already follow him. If you want to scoop on Brazil, follow him.

Rowdy Gaines the GOAT. He can tweet and commentate at the same time. Seriously, he tweets between races. Ain't nobody does it better than Rowdy.
