Important Visibility Note
No, you cannot see this across a 25-yard pool. It is not great in full sun. If you are outside in direct sunlight, shade the display with a kickboard or position it out of direct sun.

The Personal Pace Clock is a compact training clock designed to be positioned near your lane on the pool deck or another stable surface.
Do Not Submerge The Clock
The Personal Pace Clock can handle normal splashes and wet pool-deck conditions, but it is not designed to be submerged. Do not place the clock underwater.

Battery & Charging
The Personal Pace Clock is powered by an included USB-A to USB-C cable. The internal battery lasts about 4–5 hours on the highest brightness setting and up to 8–9 hours on the lowest brightness setting.
Save Battery Indoors
If you are inside, bring the brightness setting down and save a ton of battery charge.
Warranty & Support
One year manufacturer’s warranty. Damage caused by submerging the clock is not covered under warranty. Normal splashes and wet pool-deck use are fine, but do not place the clock underwater. If you have a problem with your clock, contact us and we will do everything we can to help.

Buttons
There are 5 buttons on the top of the Swimnerd Personal Pace Clock. You can click, double click, or hold down the buttons.
Power
Hold it down to turn the clock on. Hold it down again to turn the clock off.
Brightness
Click to toggle brightness settings. When configuring the clock or programming a set, this button toggles to the correct number.
Switch Modes
Click to toggle between the 5 modes. If a mode is running, pause first before switching modes. Hold this button down to mute the clock.
Enter / Configure
Hold it down to configure the mode. Click to enter and move to the next number.
Start / Pause / Reset
Click to start. Click again to pause. Double click to reset.
5 Modes
Mode 1: Default Count Up
When powered on, the Swimnerd Personal Pace Clock begins counting up endlessly.
Press Start / Pause / Reset to pause the clock and allow you to switch modes.
Double click Start / Pause / Reset to revert back to 00:00.
This makes syncing multiple clocks easy.
Mode 2: Real Time Clock — 24 Hour
- Hold down the Enter / Configure button.
- The first digit will begin flashing.
- Use the Brightness button to toggle the number.
- Click Enter / Configure to move to the next digit.
- When the correct time is set, hold Enter / Configure to save the time and begin counting.
Syncing Tip
Another great way to sync multiple Personal Pace Clocks is to configure them all with the same real-time clock time. Not only do you know what time it is, but your clocks will stay synced even if you lose power.
Mode 3: Real Time Clock — 12 Hour
Setting the 24-hour real-time clock automatically sets your 12-hour real-time clock.
You do not need to do anything in this mode.
Mode 4: Reps & Intervals
How Interval Programming Works
Hold down the Enter / Configure button to begin adding reps and intervals.
The clock basically asks you: How many reps? How many intervals?
The first two digits are your number of reps. The last four digits are your interval in MM:SS format.
Programming A Set
- The first digit furthest to the left will begin blinking.
- Use the Power button to toggle the reps down.
- Use the Brightness button to toggle the reps up.
- Click Enter / Configure to move to the next digit.
- Set your reps and interval.
- Hold Enter / Configure to move on to the next set.
- When you do not want to enter any more intervals, click Start / Pause / Reset.
- The clock is now programmed and ready to start.
Counting Up Or Down
Double click the Enter / Configure button to toggle between counting up and counting down.
The LED display will show whether the clock is set to count up or down.
Click Start / Pause / Reset to begin your set.
When your set is finished, the clock will make a long beep and then default back to count up mode.
Mode 5: Stopwatch
Click the Start / Pause / Reset button to start or stop the stopwatch.
Double click Start / Pause / Reset to reset the stopwatch.
Connect To Bluetooth
Step 1
Download the Swimnerd mobile app on iOS or Android.
Step 2
Sign in to the app and navigate to:
TOOLS → CONNECT TO CLOCK → SCAN
Step 3
Your Personal Pace Clock will appear as HC-08.
Tap it to connect.
Step 4
Once connected you can rename your clock by tapping the settings icon.
Select CLOCK at the bottom of the app to open the Clock Control Center.

Charging
Every Personal Pace Clock includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable.
Simply plug the cable into any standard USB wall adapter to begin charging.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I See It Across A Pool?
No. This is a personal pace clock designed for your lane. It is not intended to replace a full-size Swimnerd Pace Clock.
Can I Use It Outside?
Yes, but direct sunlight reduces visibility. For best results, shade the display with a kickboard or place it out of direct sunlight.
Can I Use It Underwater?
No. The Personal Pace Clock is designed for pool-deck use and can handle normal splashes, but it should not be submerged or placed underwater.
Can I Program Practices?
Absolutely. Program simple intervals on the clock itself or create complete practices inside the Swimnerd App.
Can I Sync Multiple Clocks?
Yes. You can sync clocks manually using either Count Up mode or the Real Time Clock.
What If The Clock Gets Wet?
Normal splashes and wet pool-deck conditions are expected. If the clock is accidentally submerged or stops working after heavy water exposure, turn it off, disconnect it from charging, and contact Swimnerd support.
