College Swimming Recruiting Tip:
It might seem weird that we are sharing a video from Bloomberg — but — there is valuable information 4 min and 15 sec into the video.
Are you looking to swim in college? Are you looking to transfer to another school?
Social media can get you in trouble and potentially cost you a scholarship. If you don’t think people are watching your Twitter feed, you are wrong. Almost every collegiate head coach and assistant coach is actively on social media — they are definitely paying attention!
Put yourself in a coaches’ shoes. Who would you rather have on your team?
The recruit that posts pictures of themselves drinking alcohol underage at a party?
Or, the recruit posting pictures of themselves volunteering at a Special Olympics swim practice?
Remember, it is an honor and a privilege to be part of a collegiate swim team. All of your social media outlets should be maintained accordingly so that you don’t embarrass yourself, your team, and your school.
