For gains in speed, train each component and put it together at the end of the season for one glorious performance.
1. Explosiveness
"Things that are going to train you to get off that block as quickly and as powerfully as you can."
2. Speed
"You've got to swim fast in practice there is no other way. And you've gotta push yourself beyond the speed that you think your capable of."
3. Recovery
"If you want to be faster in the pool, you need to work on your recovery out of the pool. That's the best tip I can give you."
4. Endurance
"The person that wins the 50 at the Olympics is the person that's going to slow down the least."
