Paul Brown was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan, making it truly fitting that they finally won the World Series.

A former colleague of mine, Paul was a long time coach for the Pembroke Meadows summer league swim team. He was also the assistant coach at Princess Anne High School which won a State Championship in 2014. A dedicated EMT and Senior Dispatcher, Paul was always giving back.

This November 14th marked the first anniversary of Paul’s untimely passing. To honor and remember Coach Paul, his long time friends Mike Zmuda and James Fox hosted an event that brought out dozens of former pupils, friends, and family. It was a sight for sore eyes.

Sometimes in the world of competitive swimming we can lose sight of what really matters. So give your coach a hug this afternoon after swim practice and let him or her know how much you appreciate them.
